Day Time Hunt

Daytime summer hunts here in southern Illinois are for the hardcore coyote hunters. If you are willing to deal with thick briar patches, pterodactyl size mosquitoes, and scratched up arms from walking through corn fields, this ones for you. What’s the reward for all that misery? Shotgunning extremely vocal coyotes at under 20 yards! A day hunt includes locating the night before to pinpoint the groups we’ll be hunting, then hunting from sunrise until about 10:30am. We’ll take a break mid day and hit it again for a few stands before sunset. The ideal time of year for these hunts is Mid-July to Mid-September. Watch the videos here on the page that were filmed at Close Encounters with MFK Game Calls for a few great examples.
